Presents.

Every year I make a birthday list. And every year it's just a big and just as crazy. It's a thing.. I can't help it. This year most of my list was from Modcloth, specifically the A Beauitful Mess for Modcloth. It does not disappoint. The dress and shirt I got fit perfectly and the scarves are oh so pretty. I can't wait to start wearing them!

A big congratulations to Elsie for her collection. It's really the cutest!! :]

I am 28.

My birthday was Saturday. We started the day off with taking our first ever family portraits (not in a studio). They were AMAZING!!!!! So much fun and I already got to see the pictures!! Maryam at Sweet Violet Photography ROCKS. She was so good with Jack and we had such an amazing time. I definitely recommend her for any one who needs photographs taken.
Then we went home for a long while and napped. My MIL took Jack for the night so we could meet up with a couple of friends. We ate cake and ice cream without plates and joked around all night. We attempted to watch Bridesmaids but fell asleep. Ha! I guess I am old now.... We had a really good time!!
This week will be interesting and a little... ok a lot stressful. Good thing is, my mom is coming Thursday!! Keep us in your thoughts on Friday, please! :]

And thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes on twitter, facebook, and instagram!!!!!!

3 years.

Three years of going to the same pumpkin patch, sitting on the same bench, with the same boy. He's such a goof. :]

Closet shop!

I have a teeny little shop my closet on IG today. All size small or exsmall. Some are handmade, Red Velvet dresses and a couple are from Modcloth. User name: Amanda_smith

:)

Currently...

Obsessing over: Jack is having surgery again next week. It's not a HUGE deal, but for us it is. He'll be getting his tubes back in his ears and his adenoids out on the 26th. He had tubes put in last year in the summer, so this won't be such a shock, but it is still zero fun. And I'm still very nervous about the whole thing. I know this doctor is amazing and I know that Jack will be fine, but that's my baby. My baby. MY BABY.
Anticipating: Well, see above. Also, my mom is coming in for this. I feel so very bad for it, but I'm so so grateful she's coming. We had planned a weekend to Houston with some of the ladies in my family for the weekend and well, that's gone for me. And now my mom. I'd been planning for it a few months now and there is just ONE place that I'm pretty disappointed about not going to. I'll go one day...
Working on: Enjoying the fall and not forgetting my birthday Saturday. With all the anticipation of this doctor's appointment and what he was going to say and now what he did say and now surgery to get ready for, I almost just said forget about it. Forget my birthday this year, let's just focus on Jack and what's to come. But we all need a little break. So, I kept our family portrait session with Maryum and we have plans to go back to the pumpkin patch that day and maybe the movies. It is MY birthday afterall :]
Thinking about: uhh... see above.
Watching: Downton Abbey. Gossip Girl. Grey's Anatomy. Private Practice. America's Next Top Model. Glee. Nashville. Have I mentioned I love the fall lineups?
Reading: I've been trying to re-read The Hobbit, but having it on my Kindle, I forget about it. I'm hoping to get a hard copy of it again this week. I have all the other LOTR books in paperback, so it just makes sense to have The Hobbit.
Listening to: Mumford & Sons, Band of Horses, Sucre, Dave Matthews, The Black Keys, Florence & the Machine, Kid Cudi, and The Weeknd!
Eating: I've recently bought almost every PUMPKIN item Trader Joe's has. So that. Plus all that yummy stuff in the photo up there. They were all picked from our amazing garden this week. I am beyond proud of Jeremy and myself for keeping up with it and making it our baby. Plus, it was so good. Better than store bought!
Wishing: I had some good GOOD French macarons. I was dying to go to Revival Market next weekend to get some, plus some pickled beets. I have literally had this on my HAVE TO DO list for months and months. It's a little bit of a let down to not be able to go, but I'll find a way!!

(Thank you to Danielle at Sometimes Sweet for this idea! I love it!)

Pumpkin Patch...

Every year for the last three years we have made it to the pumpkin patch in October. One of the many reasons I love the Fall. We had some not so good news today, so this was our little trip to cheer ourselves up. We are thoroughly cheered!!
This was the best time we've had at our pumpkin patch. Jack is old enough to be involved in the picking of the perfect pumpkin. We've been watching Charlie Brown's The Giant Pumpkin for weeks and weeks so this trip was about finding the GIANT PUMPKIN, MOMMY!!!
THAT ONE!!! Which turned out to be a tiny crooked squash. :]
Jack loves these tractors. He still doesn't understand the petals, but with a good push, it's all fun!
A pumpkin patch trip wouldn't be complete without apple cider.
 And, of course, caramel apples!
This cute moment happened while checking out the goats. This pumpkin patch is attached to a farm right in the middle of this cute little city. This goat loved the taste of caramel on his little chubby fingers. Jack thought it was hilarious and it surprised the heck out of him when it first happened!

The only photo of me, which is just fine. :]

My mama...

Tomorrow happens to be my best friend's birthday. She also just happens to be my mom.

You are the best friend and mama anyone on this earth could ask for. I couldn't have picked a better one. I love you!!

Happy birthday, mama!!!

Sweet Boy...

He's home!!! He actually came on Friday night late. I couldn't have taken another night. As soon as I picked up him, he started telling me all about his adventures from the week. He really did have a great time.

We had some friend's over Friday after we picked up Jack. They just got married and we couldn't be happier for them. I can't wait to (hopefully) help plan their big party!! (Congratulations, friends!!!!)

We worked in the garden Saturday and went to Trader Joe's, pumpkin EVERYTHING.

Tomorrow is Jack's EN&T appointment. I'm a little nervous. We'll see what the doctor says about his tonsils and adenoids.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Day 3 of 6...

I am on day 3 of 6 without Jack. My mother-in-law is in Houston helping out a friend and taking care of Jack for the week. I've never been away from him for more than 3 days... It's started to get easier during the day, but really tough at night. I'm so used to our routine and I miss him!! I miss his hugs and his always asking for snacks. I know he's having so much fun! We got him a new LeapPad2 before he left and I know he's loving it. He's asked a few times about us, but usually ends up saying "mommy and daddy are at my new house." We've talked about Facetiming but if he saw me, he'd want to come with me and it would be a mess... not to mention how much of a mess I'd be!

Is it Saturday yet?
