HELLO.

This weekend was a cold one. Jack's soccer game was canceled. We got quite a bit of cabin fever. We bought a couple new plants. We had a picnic at my in-law's. It was a good weekend.

CURRENTLY

Obsessing over: Our garden/backyard. We have planted so much! We have plans for more, but it'll have to wait until the weather gets even better. We have spent almost every day this week after work outside with Jack. He loves his watertable and his chalk. We got him a new bubblemachine, so that will be fun when we finally get batteries.
Working on: Spring cleaning!! We are ready for a Spring cleaning to happen. Now. Jack has a soccer game Saturday in the afternoon, so that morning will be for cleaning and cleaning out. I feel like there is just stuff everywhere. It's driving me bananas (did somebody say bananas? Sorry, mom-who-watches-too-many-episodes-of-the-Fresh-Beat-Band).
Thinking about: Oh, too many things to name at the moment. Maybe soon.
Watching: The Hobbit. It tooks us three nights, but we got through it! I so wish it had been the entire thing. It ended so ubruptly. It's a really good movie and so pretty. I am excited for the next one so I can watch both back-to-back.
Reading: I just finished The Silver Linings Playbook and well, it's amazing. It's a pretty fast read (it took me a few days) and it's an amazing story. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I definitly will.
Listening to: Um. Have you been living under a rock? Justin. Of course.
Wishing: It was Saturday :]

(Thank you to Danielle at Sometimes Sweet for this idea! I love it

First soccer game!!
More herbs.
Racing on a chalk track.
Jack's clovers.
Watertable weather!!!
Grass on a truck.

SOCCER GAME 1

This was Jack's first soccer game. He doesn't look super into it in this photo, but he was sort of into it at first.
Then.... one of his teammates kicked the ball when Jack was trying to. Jack is pretty sensitive, so that was the end of his play time!
We walked off the field and never went back on. The coach even carried him out and he walked right back. He's learning. :] It was pretty cute though. The uniform and the running and cheering.
We realized that this game was so early (for him) and he didn't get a chance to wake up and eat a good breakfast. After we had the after-game snack, he perked up and started to cry saying "I missed my chance." Of course, we explained that there is always next week. Now he's asking to go to soccer and hopefully will stay in the game!

HELLO.

We are currently enjoying our amazing weekend number two. Last weekend was amazing and this one is just the same, although I woke up today feeling like I ate something horrible (queue the nausea). I hope everyone is having an equally awesome day (minus the blah).

GARDEN

Jeremy and I have been working on our garden for almost a year. We started with nothing...seriously. ZERO. The grass was brown. The patio had nothing on it except these blue chairs. We bought a ton of pots on clearence from Target last year and are now filling them all up. This fence/wall is our herb garden. Each has it's own marker (also from Target). Our vegetable garden won't be in the same place it was last year (we've learned). The sun doesn't reach so well right there, so we're going to build/buy a raised garden or something of the sort and put it towards the back of the yard.

We have a lot of plans, but the herb wall is my favorite. We are going to try to add some more hanging pots from Target, if they ever put them out.

hanging pots: Target; Smith sign: vintage; mirror: vintage; Little pot person: a gift made by my father-in-law; the sconses on the fence: Target; patio furniture: handed down and spray painted

Happy Friday!

MY LITTLE BOY

I'm not sure when he thought he was allowed to growup. But he did.
He's three and a half and so big!
He still loves his cars, but loves his Wreck it Ralph carts more than anything.
He can quote Wreck it Ralph, which isn't always such a cool thing. (Parents beware of the not-so-nice words or sayings in that movie. I made the mistake of letting him watch it over and over when we were sick, and he has said things like "I don't have to do boo" when I ask him to do something. He's stopped since we've explained that they aren't so nice and whatnot, but still. I will admit it was hilarious when he said it, but so un-cool.)
He loves strawberries and these little Mickey Mouse snack packs.
He started soccer and has his second practice today!
His favorite question is why.... "why do dogs bark?" "why do we go to the potty?" Why why why.
He loves his iPad and his Sugar Rush cart racing game.
He also loves his ABCMouse game. We all love it, too. Pretty educational and he takes care of a hamster he named Egg-Egg.
He loves Martha the Talking Dog. I always know when he watches it during the day. He comes home talking like a dictionary.
Since the weather has been nicer, he's been playing with chalk every afternoon. He isn't so much into drawing with it as he is breaking it into a million little pieces all over the patio.
We are still working on potty training (hardest thing EVER).
Also, we are working on "bye-bye paci" time (also hard).
He still hates vegetables.
He gives the best hugs.
My little baby. So big.

TODDLER GARDENER

We bought a few little starter plants for Jack to start this Spring. We had such an amazing Saturday, that we started a little early. Most are from the dollar section at Target and the little animal pots are from the gardening section in Target. The coolest (and by far most fun for Jack) was the butterfly garden seeds. It's a mix of four different kinds of flower seeds that attract butterflies. My kid loves butterflies.

We have them on our kitchen windowsil and they have already started to grow a little. Jack likes to check them every day to make sure. We're teaching him about watering the plants and how they need sunlight. Overall, it's been a really fun little/cheap project for us to all do together.
